Yorkshire law firm Keeble Hawson LLP is again helping to encourage young readers across Doncaster with sponsorship of their Space Hop Summer Reading Challenge – which was part of the programme of events for Doncaster Libraries in the summer.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a national scheme, which takes place every year to encourage school children to read over the summer break. Those children who did take part are less likely to suffer from a reading dip when they return to school in September and hopefully they have fun with both the challenge and the themed activities that also take place in libraries over the summer.

In Doncaster, 3324 children joined the challenge and Doncaster libraries held 52 Space Hop themed activities, involving 1135 young participants. Using their skill and imagination, they helped create a moon surface in each library and came up with ideas for their own library on the moon. Children also had to guess the location of hidden treasure on the moon with a chance to win a prize.

28 lucky winners – one for each branch library - will now also receive book tokens from Yorkshire law firm Keeble Hawson LLP, as a reward for their engagement with the scheme.

Tony Gregory Senior Partner and Partner in Charge of the Doncaster office of Keeble Hawson LLP said this week:

“We are very happy sponsor these prizes for a second year - the challenge seems to have fired the imagination of many hundreds of children and I’m delighted it has again been such a success.”

The book tokens were presented by Paul Goel of Keeble Hawson LLP at The Central Children’s Library, Waterdale.
