hlw Keeble Hawson logoThe acquisition of Global Digital Systems Ltd by AIM listed Judges Scientific plc of East Grinstead is one of a hat trick of deals recently completed by Hardy Transaction Management Ltd which specialises in buying and selling engineering and manufacturing businesses.

Hardy Transaction Management Ltd sourced the buyer and negotiated the deal and commissioned hlw Keeble Hawson - one of the region's biggest practices with offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Doncaster - to represent the seller. The buyer was advised by London lawyers Withers.

Said Hardy Transaction Management Ltd MD Paul Hardy, who founded the firm in 2003: “Judges Scientific has amassed a powerful track record globally and is seeking rapid expansion through organic growth and acquisition. The purchase of Global Digital Systems perfectly complements its strategic goals. This is the type of complex transaction which Hardy Transaction Management enjoys dealing with and the sale involved a team effort from us, the sellers and hlw Keeble Hawson.”

Commented hlw Keeble Hawson head of corporate, Roger Dyson: “We’ve enjoyed working with Paul and Hardy Transaction Management for a number of years and this was another interesting deal which entailed complex technical issues and required extensive due diligence as well as the usual legal negotiations associated with a transaction of this size.”

A further deal saw Hardy Transaction Management Ltd sourcing a buyer for Doncaster-based farm equipment manufacturer George Moate Ltd. The purchaser, a Norwich-based private investor and owner of established engineering group PSS Hydraulics, plans to significantly uplift production capacity to meet growing demand. hlw Keeble Hawson was again commissioned to act for the sellers.”

To complete the hat trick, Hardy Transaction Management Ltd represented long- standing client and engineering components specialist Avingtrans plc in its purchase of Composites Engineering Group - which took just four weeks from start to completion.
