Joan Pettingill

Key work:

Joan qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and has specialised exclusively in employment law since 2000.

She advises on all areas of employment law, including complex TUPE advice on outsourcing projects, sensitive exits of director / shareholders and numerous redundancy and restructuring programmes.

Clients range from plcs to OMBs across a range of sectors, including: manufacturing, retail and hi-tech, as well as third sector.

Joan also provides industrial relations advice.

Background:

Joan achieved her LLB (Hons) at The University of Northumbria at Newcastle Upon Tyne.

She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly delivers law training workshops, seminars and conferences – including for Business Link.

Joan also co-led the case of Lister (and others) v Hesley Hall Limited which redefined the concept of vicarious liability and which has particular impact in the care sector.
