Key work:
Neil qualified as a solicitor in 1996, in house with Northern Rock plc. Nine years in private practice as a corporate lawyer followed with national law firms Ward Hadaway and Watson Burton. He then joined Davidson Webber LLP in 2005, which was later rebranded to Davidson Large LLP, where he was a partner and head of the Commercial Services team – securing ‘Legal 500’ recognition for the firm’s corporate work a year later.
He joined Keeble Hawson LLP as a partner in 2011.
Neil has extensive experience acting for OMB/SMEs on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions (incl MBOs/MBIs); turnaround and restructuring; equity and debt finance transactions; corporate insolvency; business start ups; corporate reorganisations and demergers (incl s110 Insolvency Act reconstructions); share options; shareholder agreements; joint ventures; partnership agreements, formation and dissolution; commercial agreements; and T&Cs.
Background:
Neil joined Northern Rock plc as a management trainee on leaving school at the age of 18. He spent several years with Northern Rock in a variety of legal and commercial roles, whilst at the same time studying distance learning for an LLB (Hons) degree as an external student of London University.
On graduation he attended Northumbria University full time to undertake the Law Society professional examinations and then returned to the Northern Rock to complete his solicitor training.
Neil’s work is characterised by a real ability to build strong working relationships with clients - a safe pair of hands with a hands on approach. Highly personable and intuitive with business acumen and a good commercial awareness, Neil is a pro-active ‘deal-doer’ who takes time to know his clients and their business.
Married with three young boys, Neil lives in Nidderdale.
