Following qualification in 2003, Roisin worked for DLA Piper subsequently joining the Dispute Resolution Department of HLW in 2007 who merged with Keeble Hawson in 2011.
Within the Dispute Resolution Department, Roisin advises on a range of commercial issues but with particular emphasis on contentious Intellectual Property and Information Technology claims including claims for patent, copyright, trademark and design right infringement and passing off.
Roisin also advises on both the legal and practical implications of Intellectual Property rights in a business context. She regularly advises clients on the practical implications of trading online and claims for abusive domain name registrations. Roisin provides sensible and pragmatic advice on the steps which can be taken to maximise brand protection and how to avoid infringing the rights of others.
Roisin also advises clients in respect of claims for breaches of duty against former Directors or employees. Experience has shown that such claims often involve a significant overlap with the law relating to Intellectual Property as it is generally the case that the former employee or Director is accused of unlawfully taking the benefit of confidential information or property belonging to their former employer.
Roisin has contributed articles to a number of publications on issues relating to Intellectual Property, including Business Insider, Print Week and New Business Magazine.
