Remote Desktop Services (RDS)

Windows Instructions

  1. Use the Download button above and save the file to a convenient place such as your Desktop. You will only need to download this once.
  2. To connect, double-click the hlw-KH-RDS file from your save location. If it is the first time you are connecting, you will be asked if you trust the publisher. You can tick "Don't ask me for remote connections from this publisher again" then click Connect.
  3. When prompted for credentials, use your normal Windows sign in username and password (your username is your full name with no spaces e.g. joebloggs).
  4. You will receive a phone call from the Microsoft sign-in verification system from telephone number +1 (212) 276-5555. Answer the call and press # to confirm your identity. If you wish to change your registered mobile phone number for receiving these calls, please contact the IT Helpdesk.
  5. When you have finished, click the Start button, click the hlw KH logo and choose Sign out to correctly close your remote session. Do not simply close the window (click the X) as your session will remain open and lock you out of accessing P4W and documents. Signing out correctly will also ensure other users can use server resources that your session would otherwise be unnecessarily using.
