The 21-strong business which delivers urban regeneration projects including the £2m plus Dun Fields scheme for 18 student houses on a brown field site in the Kelham island area, is projecting a 40 per cent team growth across the next 12 months after seeing turnover increase by over 30% in the last financial year and projections of equal growth this year.

“Our increasing volume of commissions both regionally and nationally has prompted the move to accommodate our expanding team of architects, designers and technicians.” said managing director David Cross.

Richard Smith, partner at the Sheffield office of hlw Keeble Hawson, one of Yorkshire’s largest law firms, which has acted for Coda for more than five years, handled the relocation to the 3,000 square foot offices in the grade II listed building.

He said: “Coda’s move to larger offices underpins a successful growth story for this vibrant Sheffield architectural practice that is fast gaining a client base outside Yorkshire.  After several challenging years for all firms involved in the construction sector, we hope that Coda’s expansion signals a more optimistic mood in the city.”

David Cross continued: “The regeneration of historic city centre buildings to meet the needs of 21st century life and business is something that is central to our design philosophy. The Kelham Island area is already a well-established urban village with so much potential for further growth and regeneration.

“We are extremely grateful to Richard Smith of hlw Keeble Hawson and Rebecca Schofield of Knight Frank for their enthusiasm and support in ensuring our important move was achieved quickly and efficiently.”

Rebecca Schofield of Frank Knight Sheffield acted for the landlords in the transaction.
