hlw Keeble Hawson is delighted to announce that a deal in which the firm represented fume extraction specialist Purex International Ltd, has been shortlisted in the Yorkshire Business Insider’s Dealmakers Awards 2015.

Shortlisting success: L to R Andy Easy and Trefor Jones from Purex International with Paul Trudgill from hlw Keeble Hawson and Patrick Abel from Hart Shaw.

Purex International directors, Andy Easey and Trefor Jones, acquired the business from its parent company, Domino Printing Sciences plc, in a management buyout. Purex International manufactures fume extraction systems and has a turnover of around £10m and operating profits of more than £1.8m.

The firm has also acted for Stoneacre - one of the top 30 dealer groups in the country with a turnover in excess of £440m - in its acquisition of £80m-turnover Hunston Holdings which trades as Autoworld and has its headquarters in Chesterfield. The purchase will boost Stoneacre’s turnover as part of its strategy to expand the group to a £1bn turnover.

Just two weeks later hlw Keeble Hawson managing partner, Paul Trudgill, acted for Yorkshire entrepreneur Ashley Ball in his acquisition of Halifax based Orange Bikes. The business manufactures hand-built performance bikes whose owners include world renowned Sheffield mountain biker Steve Peat.

Property transactions have seen the firm representing Harworth Estates in its acquisition of Sinfin Lane Industrial Park in Derby for £6.95 million – with a net initial yield of 9 per cent. The industrial Park consists of 471,508 sq ft of industrial space with open storage and development land with a historical consent for residential use.

hlw Keeble Hawson’s property team has also been commissioned by developer Ackroyd & Abbott in a flagship public and private partnership deal with Barnsley Metropolitan Council at Ackroyd & Abbott’s Ashroyd Business Park which is located off junction 36 of the M1.

The transaction entailed the Council supporting an investment to facilitate the expansion of rapidly growing Universal Components - a distributor of commercial vehicle components, truck parts and trailer parts - to a new 165,000 sq ft distribution centre on Ashroyd Business Park. The move will create almost 80 jobs and further enhance the broader Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone.
