Don’t Be Short-Changed Over Telephone Mast Rents

For many landowners, installing a phone mast can be a useful source of additional income with little effort or inconvenience.

Also, index linked rent reviews are not actioned and site share fees withheld, leaving the landlord owed many thousands of pounds.

hlw Keeble Hawson has recently acted on behalf of a number of telephone mast landlords, successfully recouping large sums that had gone unpaid for several years. One case, which has just been settled, saw more than £15,000 recovered from the telecoms provider.

These repayments have been achieved without having to resort to court proceedings, which can potentially delay a resolution and be extremely costly. Further, it is worth noting that a delay in pursuing monies owed can reduce any recovery because of limitation issues.

Telecoms operators are invariably slow to cooperate until a robust approach is taken by the mast landlord – often the instruction of a firm of solicitors to pursue the matter on their behalf.

hlw Keeble Hawson has a wealth of experience dealing with mast rental disputes - so if you would like to discuss any queries or problems you are having with your telecoms tenant, please contact Andrew Broadbent at andrewbroadbent@hlwkeeblehawson.co.uk or 0114 2521416.
