A team of lawyers from the Leeds office of Yorkshire law firm Keeble Hawson LLP put their caseloads to one side for the day and picked up some packing cases instead – all in a good cause.

Martin House logoThey spent a day volunteering at Martin House Children's Hospice in Boston Spa - to support the charity staff at the Leeds office chose to help this year.

The ‘DIY’ team of Thomas Lillie, Stacey Evans, Paul Grindley and Jonathan Kay, helped staff at Martin House with renovation works which included clearing two large store rooms. Martin House is due to start work building a new reception area for visitors, and the Keeble Hawson team played their part in helping with the preparatory work.

Thomas Lillie, Solicitor at Keeble Hawson LLP who organised the day said:

"It was a very valuable and enjoyable experience for the team. Keeble Hawson is committed to working with its partner charities and playing an active role in the community and activities such as this help us to build strong relationships."

Brenda Peel, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Martin House added:

"We were delighted with Keeble Hawson's help and their continued support. The team did a wonderful job."

As part of the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, staff at Keeble Hawson's Leeds office voted to support Martin House as their chosen charity for 2010.
